Foundry Partners has released a new thought leadership paper titled “Active & Passive Investing: Navigating Cycles and Hidden Risks,” which was authored by Mark Roach and Mario Tufano (CFA) along with the help of Patrick Coleman, a graduate student at the Villanova School of Business. The paper delves into the history of passive investing, the relationships and cyclicality of active and passive management, and some of the risks or pitfalls that might not be accounted for with a dedicated passive approach.
Needless to say, not only has the definition of passive investing changed over time, but investors might be blind to some of the relationships with active management and the possible risks that can be hidden or not discussed if you don’t have all the information.
We hope you enjoy the paper and welcome the opportunity to further explore this topic with you if you are interested in setting up a call.
